Horizon Europe Projects Partnership to Improve Cybersecurity of CMDs

CYLCOMED is honoured to be part of the partnership with the Horizon Europe sibling projects ENTRUST, MEDSECURANCE, NEMECYS, and SEPTON launched in Brussels on 6 July 2023. The aim is to improve the cybersecurity of connected medical devices (CMDs), starting with the design of joint recommendations for the MDCG 2019-16 guideline.

The launch of this partnership was the result of the meeting held in Brussels on 6 July, which brought together representatives from the sibling projects funded under the same call HORIZON-HLTH-2022-IND-13-01. During the meeting, participants discussed the initial results and provided feedback and insights on the common challenges currently faced by the five Horizon Europe projects. The insightful debate led to exciting opportunities for collaboration on scientific, regulatory and standardisation activities, highlighting the potential for ground-breaking progress. The first concrete outcome of this new partnership will be the publication of a joint White Paper by the end of the year. It will provide recommendations for the revision of the MDCG 2019-16 – Guidance on Cybersecurity for Medical Devices, as well as insights for regulators, industry professionals and stakeholders interested in gaining a full understanding of its practical implementation and impact.

Stay tuned for more results from this enthusiastic collaboration, which is committed to making significant progress in the field of cybersecurity for healthcare.
